Policy analysis of agricultural education and training in Uganda

This project provided an in-depth policy analysis of the relevant policies and institutional arrangements in the area of school-based agricultural education and training to support the better positioning of the VVOB’s “Teaching Agriculture Practically (TAP)” programme. The study reviewed the vision, objectives, plans, budgetary impacts, institutional arrangements and stakeholders of the VVOB's TAP programme, in relation to broader existing education policy in Uganda. Based on these findings, the study re-traced the institutional and policy frameworks for the programme, which can be used to inform its strategic decision making processes. This review was conducted using a mixed method approach, consisting of desk research and interviews, confirmed by a collaborative validation workshop. The project was conducted for VVOB and finalised in 2021.
