ICT and teacher education in Africa

This evaluation evaluated the UNESCO-China Funds-in-Trust (CFIT) Project: Improving Quality Teacher Education in a selected number of countries in Sub-Saharan Africa’. In 2012, the UNESCO-China Funds-in-Trust project was launched with support of the Chinese government, with the primary goal to accelerate progress towards the attainment of Education-for-All (EFA) objectives and education-related Millennium Development Goals in eight selected Sub-Saharan project countries (Côte d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Namibia, Congo, DR Congo, Liberia, Tanzania, and Uganda).

The main purpose of the evaluation was to assess the quality of the implementation and contribution to the objectives of the CFIT project. The evaluation was commissioned by UNESCO and conducted in cooperation with ICON Institut in 2015-2016.
