This study was part of a series of meta-syntheses focused on capturing lessons learned on the implementation of the United Nations Youth  Strategy. The objective was to identify proven strategies, effective approaches and common challenges across United Nations youth interventions in education, skills development, and economic empowerment through decent work. To generate lessons to advance the implementation of the United Nations Youth Strategy synthesis questions around priority areas were developed and 298 evaluation reports were identified. A theory-based AI, enabled with human-in-the-loop was used to mine texts and topic modelling. This approach aligned with UENG Ethical principles for harnessing AI in UN evaluations by using a thematic expert and improving efficiency and reduced bias. The lessons learned directly contribute to the implementation of the United Nations Youth Strategy 2030.
