Gert-Jan joined Ockham IPS in June 2020 as Director and senior consultant. He has over 10 years of professional experience in the field of international public policy. He specialises in education and labour market policies and works for a wide range of clients such as the European Commission, UNESCO, UNICEF, and ILO. He is very familiar with EU policymaking processes and regularly advises on EU Better Regulation procedures. He combines qualitative methods of research with his extensive experience in the collection, analysis and synthesis of quantitative data, for instance in the field of European Structural Funds. He has worked in various EU countries, Brazil, and (post-conflict) countries in Sub-Saharan Africa.
